UAB Softball To Face Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.---The UAB softball team looks to pick up its third victory of the season against Samford as it plays the Bulldogs for the fourth time in 2003 on Tuesday at Bulldog Field starting at 6 p.m.
UAB's first two meetings with the Bulldogs this season came at the Magic City Classic hosted by Birmingham-Southern College. The Blazers were defeated in game one, 1-0 and came from behind on day two of the tournament to win in nine innings, 11-8, capturing the Magic City Classic championship. In its most recent meeting, the Bulldogs traveled across town to George Ward Park on March 18, and were defeated by the Blazers, 1-0. It was the second one-run decision game between the two teams on the season.
The Blazers enter Tuesday's game on a six-game win streak after sweeping Charlotte 8-4, 4-1 and 6-4 this past weekend.
On Sunday, the Bulldogs split a doubleheader with Mercer, losing the first, 2-1, and winning the second, 6-5. The 2-1 loss to Mercer eliminated the Bulldogs from the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
