BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- Lindsay Stanley, an outfielder, from Clay-Chalkville High School has signed a national letter of intent to play softball at UAB, according to an announcement by UAB head coach Marla Townsend.
"We are very excited with the addition of Lindsay to our softball program," said Townsend. "She is a very talented athlete and will bring depth to our outfield. We also expect her to contribute at the plate."
Stanley was an outstanding outfielder for the Cougars and was among the top hitters in the state. As a senior in 2003, Stanley helped lead Clay-Chalkville to a third-place finish in the Alabama State Tournament. She also received many honors, as she was named to the Birmingham News Super All-State team, All-State team, and All-Metro team, in addition to being a Star Athlete of the Week during the season.
Stanley is the first signee for the UAB softball team during the current signing period.
