UAB Softball Team To Host Third-Annual Blazer Bash

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB softball team will hold its annual Blazer Bash festivities this weekend, with events planned for both Friday and Saturday.
The team will host a banquet on Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the Green and Gold Room in Bartow Arena to begin the weekend. Blazers assistant coach Mick Hokanson will serve as master of ceremonies for the banquet. The 2005 squad and alumni will be introduced and UAB head coach Marla Townsend will speak. Individual and team awards reflective of the 2004 season will be presented, the support staff will be introduced, and UAB senior Kris Lara will speak.
The Green and Gold Alumni game will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at George Ward Park. The weekend continues with the UAB-Memphis football game at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Legion Field.
The Blazers open the 2005 season in the Bama Bash on Feb. 4-6 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Team rosters and schedules will be available at the banquet on Friday.
