UAB's Emery Wins B3 Singles Title At USC Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. ----- UAB freshman Alex Emery defeated Blazer teammate Thomas Weiss in Sunday's semifinals and went on to claim the championship of the USC Invitational's B3 singles division.
Emery defeated Auburn-Montgomery's Nikola Miskovic in Sunday's final by a score of 6-4, 6-4. He had beaten Weiss, a UAB teammate, earlier in the day by a score of 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. The set that Weiss took over Emery was the only one the freshman from Ozark, Ala. dropped in the tournament all weekend.
