Ambrus Named All-South Region By USTFCCCA

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB cross country senior Elizabeth Ambrus was named to the All-South Region team announced Tuesday by the USTFCCCA.
Ambrus placed ninth overall at the NCAA South Region Championship and automatically qualified for the national championship meet to be held on Nov. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind.
Earlier this year Ambrus missed three weeks of training and one meet due to an illness. Since her return, Ambrus has placed seventh at the Conference USA Championship and ninth at the South Region Championship.
Her other trip to the national meet was in 2005, when Ambrus was named Conference USA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the year and placed eighth in the region meet.
All-Region honors are given to an athlete who finishes in the top 25 at their respective regional meet and whose team is a member of the USTFCCCA.
