Ambrus Named C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB senior Elizabeth Ambrus has been named the first Conference USA Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Ambrus, a native of Arlington Heights, Ill., was the individual runner-up last Friday at the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tenn. This is the fifth time that Ambrus has been named the C-USA Athlete of the Week.
It was also the first race for her since sitting out the remainder of the 2006 season.
She finished the 4,000-meter course in 14:10.88, leading the Blazers to a a fourth place finish out of a field of 16 teams. The Blazers had four other runners finish in the top 25.
UAB will compete again Saturday at the UAH Invitational in Huntsville.
