BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB junior Alex Emery defeated his Blazer teammate Daniel Moser Wednesday, 7-5, 7-5, to win the "B" Division singles championship for the Semnole Invitational.
The tournament was held in Tallahassee, Fla. earlier this week and hosted by Florida State University.
However, when Emery and Moser reached the singles final with semifinal victories on Sunday, the decision was made to play the title match in Birmingham.
Emery and Moser each won a pair of matches Sunday to advance to the singles final. Moser, in fact, knocked off a third Blazer in his semifinal match, sophomore Dan Cornei.
The Seminole Invitational concludes UAB's fall schedule.
