TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The UAB cross country team ran to an eighth-place finish out of 23 teams at the NCAA South Regional Meet hosted by the University of Alabama Saturday to finish out its 2009 season.

"Colleen ran really well," UAB head coach Blake Boldon said. "I'm also really proud of Kristina Olsen. She ran hard especially in the final 2K of the race. She bypassed almost 15 people and finished strong."
Finishing third for the Blazers was sophomore Kristina Vaughn with a personal-best 6K time of 22:01.48, while redshirt junior Kendel Hood finished fourth for the Blazers with a personal-best 6K time of 22:45.15.
