Kristina Vaughn Named UAB Student-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Kristina Vaughn, a senior on the Blazers cross country team, has been selected as the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week. This marks the second time she garnered the award, as she also earned the honor Nov. 10, 2010.
A biology major with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Vaughn is a three-time recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and a three-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The Madison, Ala. native was one of the top finishers for UAB in its season opener at the UAB-Samford Dual. Vaughn placed fourth (15:31.40) in the 4K held at Veterans Park in Hoover, Ala.
Vaughn and the cross country team travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Auburn Invitational on Friday. The 4K race is schedule to start at 5:15 p.m. CT.
