UAB Cross Country Travels to Auburn Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB cross country team is set to compete Friday at the Auburn Invitational. The women's 4K race is slated for a 5:15 p.m. CT start at the Conway Acres Farm in Auburn, Ala.
The Blazers will be one of 14 teams to compete including Conference USA rival Southern Miss., in-state squads Samford, Troy, Alabama, Alabama State and host Auburn, along with No. 6 Florida State among others.
Last weekend the Blazers finished just one point behind Samford in a tight race at the UAB-Samford Dual in Hoover, Ala. The top finisher for UAB in its first event of the year was senior Clara Cid, who placed second with a new personal 4K record of 15:00.70.
In her first race in the Green and Gold, junior Sarah Hudak crossed the line in 15:26.80 to place third, followed by senior Kristina Vaughn, who finished fourth with a time of 15:31.40. Senior Lauren Fayen ran to a time of 15:50.90 to place eighth.
