Women's Soccer Falls To SMU

DALLAS, Texas--The UAB women's soccer team fell to SMU, 3-1, on Friday night at Westcott Field.
For the Blazers, freshman Paige Hanks scored the lone UAB (2-15, 1-8 C-USA) goal in the 29th minute off a rebound in front of the net. The goal marks Hanks' fourth of the season.
Along with Hanks' three shots, senior Emma Jane Smith, junior Sam Bradford, and sophomore Johanna Liney added two attempts apiece toward UAB's total of 11 shots.
SMU (8-6-3, 4-2-3 C-USA) scored its first goal of the night in the 17th minute when Shelby Redman headed the ball in off a corner kick. Kenzie Scovill scored the last two Mustang goals in the 52nd and 85th minutes of the game.
Up next, UAB will wrap the road schedule on Sunday when the squad travels to Tulsa, Okla., to take on Tulsa at 2 p.m. CT.
