Campbell Named C-USA Pitcher Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB sophomore pitcher Lannah Campbell was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 for the Blazer softball team last week. It marks her second weekly honor of the season and her career.
Campbell (13-6) picked up two wins, struck out 20 batters, walked just one and allowed one run in 12.0 innings of work.
In game two at Southern Miss on Saturday, she pitched her eighth complete game of the season and collected a career-best 15 strikeouts, all swinging except one.
The Satsuma, Ala. native pitched 4.0 innings of relief in game three of the series on Sunday. She struck out out five batters, allowed three hits and held USM scoreless.
Her ERA never climbed above 1.00 and she owned a 0.58 over the two wins. She owns a 1.67 ERA on the season and is holding opponents to a .198 hitting clip.
Campbell and the Blazers return to the diamond this weekend to wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against Tulsa at the UAB Softball Field.
The Blazers and Golden Hurricane will square off in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. The game will be televised on FSN.
The series will conclude with a single game on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. UAB’s six seniors will be honored after the game.
