DELAND, Fla. - The UAB bowling team is 11th after the first day of competition at the Wildcat Invitational in Deland, Fla. The Blazers finished the first day 1-4 with a total pinfall of 3,309.
They started the day with a Baker match against No. 16 Alabama State. UAB posted a win in the fourth game, but Alabama State took the previous three to come away with a 771-650 win.
UAB rebounded with a 719-718 win over North Carolina A&T in the second match. The Blazers then fell to No. 1 Arkansas State, 716-649, and No. 18 Monmouth, 724-649.
The tournament will continue on Saturday with five traditional games. The action is set to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
