Rifle Concludes Competition At Murray State, UT Martin

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB rifle team opened its spring season with two competitions this past weekend at Murray State and UT Martin.
UAB participated in the air rifle session in both matches. Against Murray State, the Blazers posted a team total of 2241. Freshman Selina Curren led the team with a 574 score, which included four targets with a 96.
Fellow freshman Sarah Grace Banks was second on the team with a total of 573. Banks tallied three rounds with 97 or higher. Senior Mandy McGee added a personal-best 556. Senior Lindsey Hill (538) and junior Tori Brown (512) rounded out the scores for UAB.
The Blazers then traveled up to UT Martin for a match on Saturday. UAB finished with a 2198 total against the Skyhawks. Banks led the team with a 578, including a perfect 100 in on the fifth target. She finished with four rounds above 95.
Curren scored a 550 with two rounds of 94 and a 95 on the day. McGee was third with a 545 total, Hill added a 525 and Brown posted a total of 488 for the Blazers.
UAB will return to action this weekend when it travels to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Wofford.
