Crookes, Evans Highlight UAB Cross Country Showing

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ---- The UAB cross country team got a 10th place individual finish and a 12th place effort to highlight the Blazers’ showing at the Greater Louisville Classic.
Lucy Crookes crossed the finish line at 18:06.73 in 10th place while Rebecca Evans was two back at 18:08.83.
Hannah Coffin finished with a time of 20:10.61 for the Blazers and were followed by teammates Laurie Pray (20:51.96) and Allison Wortel (21:09.39). Overall, UAB placed 20th of 33 teams.
Chelsea Blaase of Tennessee was the individual winner while West Virginia claimed the team title.
"The girls had some great efforts today,” said UAB head coach Matt Esche. “Our training is starting to come together and everyone is learning very quickly every aspect of racing at this level."
" Lucy Crookes (10th) and Rebecca Evans (12th) were aggressive today, and didn't back down. They followed the race plan to a 'T'. Laurie Pray also made massive jump by dropping 70+ seconds of her time from this last year to this year.”
