Bowling Set For Wildcat Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB bowling team will continue its record-setting season this weekend at the Wildcat Invitational in Deland, Fla. Feb. 6-8. The Blazers will be one of six teams competing in the three-day tournament.
UAB (43-25) has already eclipsed its highest number of wins in a season with three regular season tournaments remaining on the schedule. Along with the Blazers, the tournament will include Alabama State, Tulane, Florida A&M, tournament-host Bethune-Cookman and Southern.
The first day will feature five-game baker matches. UAB is scheduled to play Alabama State, Bethune-Cookman, Southern, Florida A&M and Tulane. The match against Florida A&M will be streamed live on Cateye Network.
Saturday will hold the five traditional matches and Sunday will conclude the tournament will the best 4-of-7 bracket style baker matches.
UAB is coming off an 11th-place finish at the Kutztown Bowling Invitational where the Blazers finished 11-3 on the weekend. Freshman Jessica Mellott earned All-Tournament Second Team honors after finishing 11th individually with a 212.33 average.
