UAB Softball Seeded No. 4 in Conference USA Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB softball team has been tabbed as the No. 4 seed in the 2015 Conference USA Championship and will face the No. 5 seed Marshall in the opening round of the tournament on Thursday, May 7, at 12:30 p.m. CT at FIU Softball Stadium in Miami, Fla.
The Blazers (31-18, 15-7 C-USA) will be facing the Thundering Herd (35-14, 14-8 C-USA) for the fourth time this season after the two teams met for a series last weekend in Huntington, W. Va. The winner of the matchup will square off with the winner of No. 1-seeded WKU and No. 8-seeded Charlotte in the semifinals at 1 p.m. CT on Friday.
UAB earns the No. 4 seed after finishing second in Conference USA's West Division and closing out the regular season with 15 or more league wins for the sixth consecutive year.
All games are set to be played at FIU Softball Stadium, and each game on Thursday and Friday will be aired on the C-USA Digital Network. Saturday's championship game will be played at 11 a.m. CT and will be televised by CBS College Sports Network. Additionally, all UAB softball games will have a live audio broadcast available on UABSports.com.
