No. 23 Bowling Set to Play in the Sugar Bowl

The three-day tournament takes place takes place at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner, La. Day one features 5x5 baker matches beginning at 9:30 a.m. Day two starts at 8:30 a.m. with teams competing in six team traditional matches. A winner will be crowned Sunday after teams play three best of seven baker matches.
“We are excited to end the first semester at the Allstate Sugar Bowl,” head coach Michelle Crews said. “We are coming off an amazing showcase at the UMES Hawk Classic and being recently ranked No. 23 in the latest NTCA poll. We are looking to keep our momentum going and end the semester strong showing that UAB is back and ready to compete at the highest level.”
The Blazers head to a stacked tournament featuring two top-10 teams in Vanderbilt and Stephen F. Austin. UAB was recently ranked No. 23 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association poll. This weekend will be the first time competing as No. 20 in April 2015.
UAB’s last outing was a fifth place showing at the UMES Hawk Classic held Nov. 18-20. Redshirt junior Madeleine McDuff and freshman Taylor Russell each earned all-tournament honors.
