“While we only won one match today, we were able to move up to seventh today,” head coach Michelle Crews said. “In terms of performance, today was our highest pinfall in traditional games of the season. We definitely had a much better day than yesterday and out plan of attack worked. Our opponents performed slightly better but we will use what we learned today for tomorrow in match play.”
UAB played six matches today with a bye in the second game. The Blazers came out strong after the bye and defeated Southern, 1,002-769. UAB went 1-4 on the day.
Individually, UAB was paced by Taylor Russell. Her score of 230 in the fifth game of the day would be all she needed to sit in 16th overall. Russell bowled a 206.33 average over six games.
The final day of play begins tomorrow morning at 8:30. Teams are set to play three best of seven match play games.
