Blazers Continue Season at Brunswick Bearcat Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. β The No. 19 UAB Bowling team continues its season this weekend at the McKendree Brunswick Bearcat. The tournament is set to run Oct. 27-29 in O'Fallon, Ill.
"We are excited to a part of McKendree's first tournament," head coach Michelle Crews said. "It is going one of our most competitive fields this season. 17 of the top-25 teams and all of the top-10 schools are competiting. It is also going to be a demanding oil pattern. I truely feel the team is ready for the challenge and I cannont wait to see how they handle the adversity."

The Blazers are coming off a fifth place finish at the AllState Sugar Bowl Collegiate Bowling Championships where UAB went 10-3 overall.

Taylor Russell led the Blazers in New Orleans with a second place finish and gained All-Tournament Honors. Russell carries a 234.40 average through five games into this weekend's tournament.

In addition to Russell, Rachael Berg, Caitlin Cunningham, Annie Hurley, Samantha Johnson, Sierra Lewis, Elise London, Cameron Snyder and Rachel Strogin will be making the trip.
