BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Off to one of the best seasons in program history with a record of 33-16, the UAB bowling team has moved up to No. 14 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll.
"We are so excited to finally break into the top-15 in the country," head coach Michelle Crews said. "The girls have performed so well this fall. They are working hard, they are motivated and they support each other unconditionally. They have overcome so much adversity in a very short period of time. This is just the beginning for this very young team."
UAB is coming off a first-place finish at the Hornet Classic held November 17-19 in Montgomery. The Blazers went undefeated on the final day to secure the win while Taylor Russell took home the individual crown.
Additionally, the Blazers have a fifth-place finish under their belt at the competitive AllState Sugarbowl Collegiate Bowling Championships, where Russell was named to the All-Tournament team with a second place finish.
