Men's Tennis Sweeps UAH

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s tennis team swept UAH on Friday afternoon at the Lakeshore Tennis Center. The Blazers defeated the Chargers 6-0 and 7-0 on the day and saw nine players earn victories in the pair of matches.
UAB 6, UAH 0 l Final Stats
Doubles
Anru Fourie and Henry Paiste gave UAB its first win on the day on court three to give the Blazers a 1-0 advntage in doubles action. Paiste made his debut for the Green and Gold as him and Fourie earned a 6-0 win. Seniors Christian Coetzee and Eric Komati secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over the Chargers’ top tandem on court one. Stefan Gonzalez and Tim Dollman also earned a 6-2 win on court two.
Singles
Dollman earned a swift 6-1, 6-0 win on court two to add to the Blazers lead, 2-0. Komati followed not far behind with a 6-0, 6-1 victory on court one. In his season debut, Marlon Goering secured the win with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six. Tom El Safadi also picked up a win on court fivem while Coetzee led on court three.

Doubles
The tandem of Goering and Komati debuted on court two and picked up a 6-1 victory while freshmen Stefan Gonzalez and Tim Dollman earned the doubles point with a 6-3 win in the No. 1 spot. El Safadi and Fourie also won on court three, 6-4, for the doubles sweep.
Singles
UAB’s No. 1, 2 and 3 finished in order to secure the win. Gonzalez, Fourie and Vargas all picked up wins on courts four through six, respectively, to earn the 7-0 victory.
Overall Notes l Season Statistics
Tim Dollman and Eric Komati lead UAB with each boasting 4-0 marks. Anru Fourie and has posted a 3-0 mark through the Blazers first four matches while five other Blazers are undefeated (1-0).
In doubles play, UAB has been represented by eight different tandems, seven of which are undefeated. Tim Dollman and Stefan Gonzalez boast the best mark, 3-0, while UAB is 11-1 overall in doubles action.
