UAB Bowling Goes 3-1 and Sits in 11th

DAY ONE RESULTS
SMYRNA, Tenn. - After day one of competition and a 3-1 record, the No. 22 UAB Bowling team finds itself in 11th place in the stacked 35 team field after five Baker games.
"After a rough start today the team fought really hard and put together some big scores to move into 11th place," head coach Michelle Crews said. "We are in great position going into tomorrow."
In the day's first match UAB defeated No. 18 North Carolina A&T 850-805. The Blazers then fell to No. 8 Maryland Eastern Shore 1,007-807.
UAB notched a win against Howard 953-935 taking some momentum into its bye game. In the bye the Blazers bowled their best game of the day amassing a 1,053 total pinfall.
The Blazers closed the day with a commanding 1,035-936 victory over No. 10 Central Missouri. UAB amassed a 4,698 total pinfall on day one for a 187.9 average over five games.
No. 3 Arkansas State leads the field after a day one pinfall of 5,084 with No. 1 McKendree on its heels just 35 pins behind.
