BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s tennis team blanked Alabama A&M en route to a 5-0 victory Sunday afternoon at the Lakeshore Tennis Center.

Doubles
Anru Fourie and Kenton Parton earned UAB’s first win of the day with a 6-1 victory on court two in doubles play. Eric Komati and Marlon Goering dominated on court three en route to a 6-1 victory, clinching the doubles point and UAB lead, 1-0. On court one, Tim Dollman and Stefan Gonzalez led 5-1.
Singles
On court five, Goering picked up his second win of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory to extend UAB’s lead to 2-0. Fernando Vargas blanked his opponent on court six, 6-0, 6-0, to earn the Blazers third point of the day, 3-0. Tom El Safadi and Gonzalez finished neck-in-neck on courts four and three, respectively, to clinch UAB’s 5-0 win over the Bulldogs.
