“We are excited to return to the USBC Sectionals this season,” head coach Michelle Crews said. “The team has been working very hard this year and even more so since we last competed. We are in a competitive section but we are up for the challenge and ready to get into the top-four.”
UAB was recently ranked the No. 22 team in the latest NTCA March polls. The Blazers own a 47-39 record in their first season back in competition play including second place finishes at the Jackson State Sonic Boom and the FAMU Rattler Invitational.
The Blazers’ last tournament was a 12th place finish at the SFA Jacks Invitational. Caitlin Cunningham led the team with a 34th place finish after amassing a five game total pin-fall of 984 for a 196.9 average.
Upon conclusion of play in Dallas, the Blazers bowl their final regular season event at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Symrna, Tenn. March 17-19. That will be UAB’s final tune-up before potentially competing in the NCAA Championships set for April 13-15 in Baton Rouge, La.
