UAB Bowling Welcomes Two Signees

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After a successful first season back in action, UAB Bowling head coach Michelle Crews announced the signing of Elise London and Samantha Johnson to the 2017-18 roster.
"I am thrilled to announce our first signees for the 2017-18 recruiting class," Crews said. "Both of these amazing young ladies are a wonderful fit for what I look for in our student athletes and they truly exemplify the core values we have structured our team around. These young women have extensive bowling backgrounds with many valuable competition experiences that will only further strengthen our existing team. We are building something very special at UAB and we are excited to have them join our family."
London is native of Hoffman Estates, Ill., where she lettered on the Schaumburg High School bowling team for three seasons. In junior competition she placed first place at the Illinois State Youth Leaders tour, first place at the NWIJTPA Harsco Engineering Open and second at the Illinois bowling.net open. London plans to major in chemistry with plans of becoming a forensic scientist.
Johnson comes to Birmingham after a successful junior and high school career in Apopka, Fla. She placed first at the 2016 Teen Masters Qualifier Event at Kegel Training Center, the 2017 Collegiate Masters and the 2014 Southwest Classic Year End Event. Johnson carries a 4.1 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.
