UAB Utilizes Comeback to Defeat Lipscomb in Nashville

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team defeated Lipscomb, 4-3, on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. to improve its season record to 3-3.
The Blazers claimed the doubles point on two victories. Jasper Van Kleef and Giovani Pasini overcame Francesco Tacconi and David Skrabut, 6-0, before Roman Postolka and Michal Lusovsky triumphed over Victor Chaw and Pablo Caffarena, 6-2.
UAB's three singles wins came in the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 positions. Lusovsky took the first victory for the Blazers in singles play, defeating Pedro Uribe, 6-3, 7-5. UAB trailed 3-2 with two singles matches left but tied the match at three with a Pasini victory over Skrabut (6-2, 6-4) in the No. 6 position. Van Kleef clinched the match for UAB with a 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 6-2 win over Tacconi in the No. 5 position.
The Green and Gold return to the courts to take on Southern Miss in the first home match of the season at the UAB Tennis Courts on Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
