UAB Falls in First Conference USA Showcase Match

BIRMINGHAM - The UAB men's tennis team fell, 4-1, to UTSA in its opening match of the Conference USA Showcase in Houston, Texas on Friday afternoon.
The Blazers got out to a 1-0 advantage by winning the doubles point, but UTSA won on four singles courts to take the match.
UAB's No. 50-ranked doubles team of Roman Postolka and Michal Lusovsky defeated the Roadrunners' Joao Ceolin and Juri Reckow, 6-3, before Tom el Safadi and Giovani Pasini overcame Kai Breitbach and Alan Sanson, 6-4.
The Blazers fell to 8-10 on the campaign, but have an immediate opportunity to get back in the win column as they take on Rice on Saturday and Southern Miss on Sunday.
