BIRMINGHAM – UAB won its second consecutive match after defeating Murray State on Sunday afternoon 7-0. The match, originally schedule to be played at George Ward Park, was moved to the UAB Campus Courts because of wet court conditions.
UAB won the doubles point after getting sets on Courts 1 and 3. Adela Wasserbauerova and Dominika Hrabalova took Court 1 by the score of 7-5. Annalisa Smith and Megan Bertrands were tiebreaker winners on Court 3.
In singles, the Blazers got straight sets wins from Wasserbauerova (6-4, 6-3 Court 2), Bertrands (6-4, 6-1 Court 4), Sydney Clarke (6-0, 6-2 Court 5) and Smith (6-1, 6-3 Court 6). Jana Hecking was a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 winner on Court 1. Hrabalova won on Court 3 6-7, 6-4, 6-1.
Next up, UAB (4-5) will play at North Alabama (2-6). The match, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been moved to Wednesday due to the weather forecast. Match time at the UNA Varsity Tennis Complex is 1 p.m.
