UAB Men’s Tennis Falls at Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The UAB men's tennis team dropped its Friday afternoon road match with Chattanooga, 7-0.
UAB (2-4, 0-1 C-USA) lost the doubles point with Chattanooga (1-5, 0-0 SoCon) wins on courts two and three as Turner Voges/Simon Labbe topped Thanos Spyropolous/Vojtech Podzemny, 6-0, and Kerim Hyatt/Jeffrey Dewald overcame Daniel Janko/Parker Bradbary on court three, respectively.
In singles play, Chattanooga won on courts four (Dewald def. Spyropolous, 6-1, 6-4) and three (Hyatt def. Janko, 6-4, 6-1) before clinching the match on court one, as Tomas Rodriguez won against Roman Postolka, 6-3, 6-2.
The match was played out on courts six (Peyton Gatti def. Giovani Pasini, 6-4, 6-2), five (Labbe def. Podzemny, 6-4, 6-4) and two (Voges def. Michal Lusovsky, 4-6, 7-6, 1-0), leading to the 7-0 Mocs victory.
UAB returns to the courts on Saturday as the Blazers play host to Conference USA foe Old Dominion at 10 a.m. before squaring off against Bellarmine at 2 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played in Birmingham at Lakeshore Tennis Center.
