UAB Bowling Set to Open 2023-24 Season at Colonial Lane Classic

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Women's Bowling team heads to Harahan, La. to open the 2023-24 season at the Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane. The three-day tournament will be played from Friday, Oct. 13 to Sunday, Oct. 15.
Opening day matches on Friday will be played in a 5x5 baker game format with the first match starting at 9:45 a.m. with matches concluding at 4 p.m. Saturday's matches will be played in a traditional team game format with the first match starting at 8:55 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. On Sunday, best four-out-of-seven baker matches will be played starting at 8:30 a.m., which will be followed by the Awards Ceremony at 2 p.m.
Matches 1-5 will take place on Friday and Matches 6-10 will be played on Saturday. The opponents that UAB will play for Matches 1-10 are in the following order: Match 1 vs. Oklahoma Christian, Match 2 vs. Tulane, Match 3 vs. Sam Houston State, Match 4 vs. Stephen F. Austin, Match 5 vs. Louisiana Tech, Match 6 vs. Texas Southern, Match 7 vs. Alabama A&M, Match 8 vs. Jackson State, Match 9 vs. Emmanuel and Match 10 vs. Southern.
"I'm very excited to head back to the Colonial Lanes Classic," said Head Coach Michelle Crews. "This is the strongest the team has been to start the year in quite some time. We have five returning players and four newbies traveling this weekend. I'm excited to see how they work together this weekend, and what things we need to improve on before we head to our first MEAC event next month!"
Making the trip to compete for UAB will be Keagan Trexler, Shauna Rodgers, Jillian Hulsey, Victoria Cobos, Gabrielle "Zoe" Moore, Savannah Schneider, Madelynn Oliva, Amber Longwell and Madison Colston.
