UAB (1) FAU (4)
Starting the game, the Owls were first to strike, with a solo homer from FAU's Peterson to put a run on the board in the second inning. The momentum continued to swing in the Owls' favor after an error on Lauren Brock gave FAU a run to extend the lead of two runs to none. The Blazers stopped the bleeding with Bella Wiggins getting a flyball out from Mora.
Entering the bottom of the second, Lilly Crowe reached first on a walk, followed by stealing second right after. Lindsey Smith would also walk, giving the Blazers an opportunity to score with two runners on base. Designated hitter Mackenzie Droddy then delivered a single to second base, giving Crowe the go-ahead after a fielding error to cruise to home plate.
The Blazers and Owls went cold in the third, but UAB had two opportunities to score after leaving two on base in the bottom. In the fourth, another homer came from the Owls, this time from FAU's Ennis. Two batters later, they scored again off an RBI single from Presutti. The Blazers also drew an error, putting two runners on base, but nothing would come of it.
The fourth and fifth inning saw only two runners left on base between the Blazers and FAU. In the final two innings, FAU found themselves unable to get a runner on base, as Caitlin Russell allowed only one hit upon her entering for Sarah Cespedes. Entering the bottom of the seventh, Kaily Collett entered as a pinch hitter for Alyssa Aguilar but flew out to right field. Hannah Miles then struck out swinging and Brock flew out to center field to draw the game to a close.
