UAB Women’s Tennis Receives ITA All-Academic Team Award, Five Players Named ITA Scholar-Athlete

BIRMINGHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2023 Division I Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams on Monday.
UAB placed five players on the Scholar-Athletes list - Vanessa Mellynchuk, Enya Ratkic, Annalisa Smith, Adela Wasserbauerova and Maggie White.
As a team, UAB boasts a team cumulative GPA of 3.46 for the 2022-23 academic year, which earns them a position on the ITA All-Academic Team. This is the 11th year the members of the UAB women's tennis team have been named to the ITA All-Academic Team.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
• have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
• be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
• have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale)
• all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form
• all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
