Three From Women’s Soccer Earn AAC Postseason Recognition

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer players Abbey Burns, Jette Zimmer and Louise Larson have earned American Athletic Conference postseason honors, announced by the league office on Sunday.
Burns was named All-Conference First Team, Zimmer earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team, and Louise Larson was named to the All-Freshman Team.
The junior midfielder Burns has started in 15 matches and leads the team in goals with seven from her center midfielder position in 2024. She has logged the second most minutes on the team (1,350) and recorded two assists on the year. During the season, Burns earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week and an Honorable Mention.
Zimmer started in 14 games in her first season with Blazers and scored four goals. After scoring two goals at East Carolina, she earned AAC Honorable Mention for her efforts.
Larson started in 14 matches as a true freshman and appeared in 15 total. The Stockholm Sweden native logged the third most minutes on the team (1,345) and played stout defense the entire season.
UAB opens postseason play on Monday, November 4, against No. 4 seed Rice. Kickoff in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
