UAB Beach Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – Highlighted by playing four teams who participated in last year's NCAA National Championship, the UAB beach volleyball team has released its complete schedule for the 2025 season.
The Blazers begin competition in New Orleans at the Green Wave Invitational on Feb. 21 and jump right in by facing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, who has played in the last three NCAA Tournaments, and Tulane who is a conference rival and UAB's most common opponent in program history. The Blazers and Green Wave will be meeting for the 27th time overall.
The following day, Feb. 22, UAB has three matches against Concordia University Irvine, New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana.
UAB then travels to Columbia, S.C. on Saturday, March 1 for a one-day round robin against Austin Peay and South Carolina.
The Blazers will host The March To May in Birmingham on March 7-8 in which UAB faces Houston Christian and Eastern Kentucky on Friday, followed by North Alabama and a rematch with New Orleans on Saturday.
UAB then heads to South Beach for spring break and will face FIU on Wednesday, March 12, followed by making its way up the coast to Boca Raton for the FAU Beach Invitational. While at Pompano Beach, UAB faces NCAA Tournament participant Georgia State, Florida Gulf Coast, Division II National Champion Tampa and conference foe Florida Atlantic.
Following Florida, UAB travels West for another stacked tournament at the ASU/GCU Invitational. The Blazers begin competition in Tempe, Ariz., on March 28 against a pair of Top 10 teams and NCAA Tournament participants Washington and Arizona State. UAB then makes the short trip to Phoenix the next day for matches against UTEP and Grand Canyon.
On April 4-5, the Blazers visit Conway S.C., for the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina. The weekend slate consists of the University of Lynchburg, College of Charleston, UNC Wilmington and Coastal Carolina.
UAB returns to Birmingham the following weekend to host the Blazer Beach Bash on April 11-12. UAB will face Missouri State and Tennessee Tech on Friday, April 11, followed by Austin Peay and Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, April 12.
A trip to Florence, Ala. to face North Alabama on April 19 concludes the regular season. The Blazers will then head to Youngsville, Louisiana, April 24-26, for the Conference USA Championship. The winner of that tournament will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA National Championship which is set for May 2-4.
The Blazers are coming off a program record 19 wins in 2024 and look to build upon that this season with seven of their top 10 players returning in 2025.
