Women’s Tennis Picks Up 4-0 Win at Alabama A&M

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – UAB women's tennis (9-4) picked up a 4-0 win at Alabama A&M (0-6) on Sunday afternoon.
The Blazers earned the doubles point to start the match. Vanessa Mellynchuk and Mackenzie White claimed a 6-1 win on Court 1. Kristyna Damaskova teamed up with Nera Tesankic to earn a 6-0 victory on Court 2.

1. Vanessa Mellynchuk/Mackenzie White (UAB) def. Valentine Abide Talaki/Alicia Owegi (AAMU) 6-1
2. Kristyna Damaskova/Nera Tesankic (UAB) def. Gabrielle Henderson/Sofia Sotelo Raya (AAMU) 6-0
3. Maria Paz Ospina/Enya Ratkic (UAB) vs. Naomi Blanks/Ntokozo Zungu (AAMU) 4-2, unfinished
UAB claimed the first three available singles wins to earn the 4-0 win. Damaskova, White and Enya Ratkic were the three Blazers to secure the Green and Golds victory. UAB has now won five consecutive matches.
