Daniel Earns National Pitcher of the Week Honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Roch Cholowsky (UCLA), Max Knight (Missouri State), Colin Daniel (UAB) earned weekly honors from the College Baseball Foundation (CBF) for their respective performances last week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Cholowsky earned the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week while Knight was named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week. Daniel was selected as the National Pitcher of the Week.
Daniel tossed a complete-game shutout, scattering three hits over nine innings while striking out 13 batters in a 3-0 win over Rice on Friday. The right-hander didn't walk a batter and closed out the Owls on 108 pitches to earn the victory. Daniel faced 28 hitters and had a strike percentage of 73.1%. He finished off the game in style striking out the side in the top of the ninth inning for his fifth victory of the season.
The Pitcher of the Year award, college baseball's version of the Cy Young Award which was created in 2009, is given annually to the nation's top collegiate pitcher.

About the College Baseball Hall of Fame
Each year, more than 190 representatives nationwide vote on the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction class. The voting body is comprised of national and regional college baseball media, active and retired coaches, former players, former inductees, college baseball historians and members of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) collegiate baseball committee. The College Baseball Hall of Fame inducted its first class in 2006. Since that time, 165 players, coaches, umpires, administrators and contributors have been selected for induction. The College Baseball Hall of Fame will establish a physical location in Overland Park, Kansas in early 2026. Located within the iconic Museum at Prairiefire, the College Baseball Hall of Fame will serve as a shared community asset, deepening connections to the nation's favorite pastime through a dynamic and ever-evolving space for college baseball enthusiasts to celebrate the sport's rich past, present, and future.
