The American Reveals Women’s Basketball’s Conference Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – The American Conference has officially announced the 2025–26 women's basketball schedule, and UAB is set for an exciting slate of league matchups as the Blazers begin their third season in the American.
"Great players and outstanding coaches make up this league, and that's why the American is such a special challenge every single game," head coach Randy Norton said. "We know how tough it is to win on the road, and that's why it's even more important for Bartow Arena to be a difference maker. Our fans make a difference and when Blazer Nation shows up, they give us an edge that can carry us through the grind of conference play. We're excited for the journey and ready to fight together every step of the way."
UAB tips off conference play on Dec. 30 with a road test at East Carolina, followed by a road game at Charlotte on Jan. 3. The Green and Gold return to Bartow Arena for its American home opener against the reigning Conference Champions South Florida on Jan. 6.
Florida Atlantic comes to Bartow Arena on Jan. 10 before the Blazers go on the road for two games at Rice (Jan. 14) and Tulane (Jan. 17). After being on the road, UAB returns home to hosts North Texas on Jan. 20 and East Carolina on Jan. 24. To close out the month of January, the Blazers travel to Kansas to face Wichita State on Jan. 31.
February will feature seven matchups, starting with the reigning regular season champions UTSA at Bartow Arena on Feb. 3, followed by the Blazers at Florida Atlantic on Feb. 7. On Feb. 10, Memphis comes to Birmingham before UAB hits the road to North Texas on Feb. 17 and Tulsa on Feb. 20. To close out February, the Green and Gold welcome Wichita State (Feb. 25) and Temple (Feb. 28) to Bartow Arena.
The regular season wraps up in March with a pair of games. The Blazers travel to Memphis on March 4 before Charlotte comes to Birmingham on March 7.
Beginning this season, the American Basketball Championship will feature the top 10 teams in a new five-day bracket format. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will advance directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will maintain byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 and No. 6 seeds will receive byes to the second round. The 2026 Championship will run Tuesday through Saturday, March 10-14 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
