Jacksonville Classic Opponents Set: George Washington and Virginia

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball team announced that George Washington and Virginia will be its opponents at the Jacksonville Classic.
The tournament dates are set for November 23-25 at Florida State College in Jacksonville, Florida.
UAB will meet George Washington for only the second time in program history. The Revolutionaries out of the Atlantic 10 Conference won 18 games last season and made it the Great Eight in the WNIT. The last time the two teams played was back in 1994 where George Washington defeated the Green and Gold 74-66.
The Blazers will also meet Virginia out of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers won 22 games last year and made to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. UAB met Virginia once in 2006 where the Cavaliers earned an 81-63 victory.

The 2026-27 Gold Card is on sale. The 2026-27 Gold Card will get you access to all home events for Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for American Conference or NCAA Championship events.
