The American Announces Women’s Basketball Conference Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – The American Conference has officially announced the 2026-27 women's basketball schedule, and UAB is set for an exciting slate of league matchups as the Blazers begin their fourth season in the American.
"We have a great opportunity this season with a new team that includes nine new players," head coach Randy Norton said. "Night in and night out in this conference, you're going against great players and some of the best coaches in the country, and that's exactly the challenge we want for this group as we continue to grow together. Every game is going to test us in different ways, and we know there are no easy nights in conference play. We're excited about the opportunity to compete, continue building our chemistry and get better as the season goes along."
UAB tips off conference play on Jan. 2 with a road test at Wichita State, followed by the Blazers hosting Charlotte (Jan. 7) and Temple (Jan. 10) for the first two conference games in a newly renovated Bartow Arena.
The Green and Gold travel to New Orleans, La., to face Tulane on Jan. 13. Returning home for a pair of games, the Blazers welcome Memphis on Jan. 16 followed by Rice on Jan. 21. To round out the month of January, UAB travels for two games to UTSA on Jan. 24 and Temple on Jan. 27.
North Texas comes to Bartow Arena on Feb. 2 followed by East Carolina making a trip to Birmingham on Feb. 6. After a two-game home stint, the Blazers travel for a pair of games to South Florida (Feb. 10) and Florida Atlantic (Feb. 13). On Feb. 17 Tulsa comes to Bartow Arena followed by road trips to Charlotte on Feb. 21 and East Carolina on Feb. 24.
UAB's last two home games include hosting Wichita State on Feb. 27 and Tulane on March 3. The regular season wraps up when the Blazers travel to Memphis on March 6.
The American Conference tournament is set for March 9-13 in Tampa, Fla., at the Yuengling Center.
