A New Definition of Duh-LONG-uh Range
Delange took the campaign quite literally at Memphis.
After connecting from 49 yards, Delange drilled a 57-yard field goal, establishing a new UAB record and surpassing Ty Long's 54-yarder at Ohio State in 2012. The kick extended his career long by five yards.
Five days later, Delange continued to showcase his range against East Carolina.
With UAB trailing 14-6 late in the third quarter, Delange connected from 50 yards, pulling the Blazers within five points. It marked his second field goal of at least 50 yards this season and the fourth of his career.
Delange finished the night 3-for-3 on field goals, also connecting from 41 and 26 yards. His nine points helped keep UAB within striking distance before the Blazers scored a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final minute of regulation to force overtime.
UAB went on to defeat East Carolina 30-17, improving to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the American Conference.
Across the Memphis and East Carolina games, Delange connected on five field goals from 49, 57, 41, 26 and 50 yards.
