Darius Johnson joined UAB athletic staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach in July of 2023.Β
He is a native of Montgomery, AL and a 2x graduate of UAB, earning his bachelorβs in Kinesiology in 2018 and his Masterβs in Exercise Physiology in 2021. He was an intern for UAB Menβs Basketball for the β22-β23 season. Prior toΒ thatΒ he was an intern for Samford University on the Olympic side where heΒ assistedΒ with M/W basketball, volleyball, golf, and softball.Β Heβ sΒ a former UAB athlete on the Cheerleading team 2015-2018.Β
Darius is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA.Β
