Volleyball Loses To East Carolina 3-1

GREENVILLE, N.C. - UAB (6-11, 0-8 Conference USA) fell to East Carolina (4-13, 2-6 C-USA) 22-30, 30-24, 32-30, 30-26 in Conference USA volleyball action at Williams Arena.
Sophomore outside hitter Martina Shields led UAB with a match high 21 kills, 11 digs and a .390 hitting percentage. Junior right side hitter Kristi Lee had 16 kills, sophomore middle blocker Karen Boyd posted 13 kills, 12 digs and a .300 hitting percentage, and freshman setter Jessica Liptak added a match high 52 assists and 10 digs for the Blazers.
Senior outside hitter Amanda Rudolph posted 18 kills, hit for .447 and had a match high 19 digs for East Carolina. Freshman setter Jessica Vick had 25 assists and senior setter Lisa Donovan added 24 more for the Pirates.
UAB travels to Charlotte for a C-USA match against the 49ers tomorrow at 8 p.m. (ET).
