BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB (9-14, 2-10 Conference USA) defeated TCU (6-16, 2-9) 30-24, 25-30, 30-28, 30-18 in Conference USA volleyball action this afternoon at Bartow Arena.
Senior outside hitter Shelly Greene had 18 kills, hit for .415 and posted six digs to lead the Blazers. Sophomore outside hitter Martina Shields had 11 kills and 18 digs, junior right side hitter Kristi Lee posted 14 kills and four total blocks, and freshman setter Jessica Liptak added 49 assists, seven kills and a .417 hitting percentage for UAB.
Sophomore middle blocker Courtney Beach had 10 kills, hit for .400 and had three total blocks to lead TCU. Junior outside hitter Jennifer Cuca posted 10 kills and nine digs and sophomore setter Tori Barlow added 23 assists for the Horned Frogs.
UAB next travels to Starkville, Miss to take on Mississippi State Tuesday at 7 p.m.
