UAB scored two first half goals and overcame an own goal to beat TCU 2-1 in the final home match of the season, Friday night at UAB's West Campus Field.
The 15th-ranked Blazers are 13-3 overall and 7-2 in C-USA play.
UAB started the scoring at the 22:07 mark when Ngwe (Missouri City, Texas) found an opening in the TCU defense and slipped it past a diving Michael Lahoud.
Four minutes later the Blazers helped TCU tie the score when the ball went off UAB's Jose Rayo into the goal. Tyler Wilcox (Louisville, Ky.).
With six minutes remaining in the first half, Jermie Frankson scored as he knocked in a header passes from midfield. Nelson Mata (Houston, Texas). The score would remain 2-1 through half-time.
The Blazers were the more aggressive team getting off 17 shots to just seven for TCU. Wilcox, making his second start in place of the injured Clint Baumstark, recorded three saves.
UAB finishes off the regular season by playing at East Carolina next Friday.
