BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB (11-16, 2-12 Conference USA) defeated Jacksonville State (10-17, 3-7 Atlantic Sun) 30-23, 30-19, 30-15 in volleyball action this evening at Bartow Arena.
Junior right side hitter Kristi Lee led UAB with 10 kills, a .412 hitting percentage and eight digs. Junior middle blocker Allison Magner had nine kills, hit for .750 and had four total blocks and freshman setter Jessica Liptak added 33 assists, four kills, four service aces and a .429 hitting percentage for the Blazers.
Junior outside hitter Sarah Taylor led Jacksonville State with six kills and sophomore setter Meredith Duke added 18 assists and five digs.
UAB returns home to Bartow Arena Friday to take on Conference USA rival Tulane at 7 p.m. Jacksonville State returns home Saturday to face Alabama A&M at noon.
