Women's Golf Concludes Play In Beacon Woods Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. ----- UAB concluded play at the 25th annual Beacon Woods Invitational here Sunday, shooting a final round score of 321 for a three-day total of 964 to place 12th overall. Sophomore Brooke Mangan led the Blazers for the third consecutive tournament with a 54-hole score of 226, to place 20th overall.
One day after shooting a four-under par 284 on Saturday, Tulane improved on that with a final round 280, to set a tournament record with an 864 total to win by 24 shots over second place South Florida, the host school for the event. The Green Wave had four of the top six finishers, with Liz Stuart of Florida International and Jill Crowe of USF also finishing in the top six. Ole Miss (895), Memphis (903) and Mississippi State (909) round out the top five, respectively.
Freshman Liz Schweihs finished the event in 58th with total of 241. Janey Deimling finished in 61st by carding a 243, while Jenni Elmore shot an 254 to place her 70th. Katie Kane rounded out the UAB golfers with a 272 to place 74th.
The UAB women's golf team will conclude Fall Tournament play on October 28-30 when the travel to Atlanta, Ga. to participate in the Georgia State Invitational.
