Men's Golf Signs Two In Early Signing Period

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The University of Alabama at Birmingham men's golf team announced the signing of two future Blazer golfers here Monday. Kyle Sapp of Mortimer-Jordan High School in Gardendale, Ala. and Tigh VanLeeuwen of Sertine, West Australia will play for UAB.
"I think these guys will be great additions to the UAB men's golf team," UAB head coach Alan Kaufman said. "Both have had great prep careers and I am excited and I think they will be a welcome addition to our squad."
Sapp was the runner-up in the Future Masters Tournament held in Dothan, Ala. He also won the Birmingham Golf Association Championship this past year. Many consider Sapp to be one of the top-10 golfers in the state of Alabama.
VanLeeuwen is the captain of the Australian Junior Team and has been a member of that team for three years. He has gained great international expereince going against some of the top junior golfers in the world.
