BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB men's soccer team (6-3-5, 2-2-2 C-USA) improved to No. 22 in the nation in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 poll. In addition, the Blazers are ranked fourth in the NSCAA South Region poll.
"We have been a little frustrated lately but we are continuing to dominate games," UAB head coach Mike Getman said. "We just need to start finishing our shots and get some better results. I feel we are certainly deserving of this ranking and I am glad to see other coaches respect our program enough to vote us as one of the top teams in the country."
The Blazers are also ranked in the Soccer Times poll, coming in at No. 28 in the nation.
UAB will continue play this week with two contests. The Blazers will first step outside conference play when they play host to Centenary on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. on West Campus Field. UAB will then return to Conference USA play when they travel to Chicago, Ill., to take on DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m.
