Women's Golf Team Wins South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. ----- Katie Kane finished the day with a two under 152 to capture individual honors and lead the UAB women's golf team to its first tournament title of the season at the South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational here Tuesday. The Lady Blazers shot a 636 and won by three strokes over Troy State University (639).
Tournament hosts South Alabama finished third with a 662, while Lipscomb (674) and Centenary (676) rounded out the top five.
Kane battled back from a two-stroke deficit on Monday to capture low medalists honors after firing a final round 75. Jenni Elmore followed Kane's lead with a 159 (78-81) to finish in sixth overall. Brooke Mangan (80-83) and Liz Schweihs (79-84) each shot a 163 to finish in a tie for ninth overall, while Janey Deimling finished in 15th place with a 166 (83-83).
The Lady Blazers will next compete at the South Florida Invitational on March 17-18.
